Six Months and 1,800 km: An Honest Owner’s Report

Feb 2026Ozark foothills, Missouri8 min read

Why I bought it

I manage a 200-acre hunting lease with my brother-in-law. MS took my legs out of the equation four years ago, and a lease like this is all creek crossings, leaf-covered ruts and fallen limbs. My old ATV needed two able-bodied compromises to get me on and off it. I wanted something I could run alone.

Range, honestly

The brochure says 100 km plus. Here is the truth from my logbook: on my ground — hills, mud, stop-and-go glassing — I average 70 to 85 km per charge with the dual-battery setup, and my longest day was 74 km with 11 percent left. On gravel and road mode it stretches well past 100. The number that matters more: I have never once planned my day around the battery.

Charging is boring, which is the highest compliment. I plug it into the barn overnight like a cordless drill. In six months the battery has not been the subject of a single conversation — that is exactly how it should be.

This is the machine I have been waiting for.

Mud season

March in the Ozarks is axle-deep soup. The mud mode remaps throttle response so the tires bite instead of spin, and the chassis walked out of two ruts that swallowed my neighbor’s side-by-side to the frame. I pulled him out, by the way. A wheelchair, towing an ATV. He has not heard the end of it.

What I would change

Two things, because no honest report skips this part. First, at 240 kg it is not a machine you muscle around a garage — plan a parking spot you can ride straight into. Second, I want a factory gun-boot mount; I fabricated my own, and it works, but it should be a catalog option.

Six months in

Zero unplanned stops. One scheduled service, done remotely with a technician on video while I turned the wrenches. The machine has become invisible in the best way — I think about the hunt now, not about the getting there. For four years those were the same problem. They are not anymore.
